Medium Solid Silver Cable

1.70 sq.mm Solid 99.99% Pure Silver mains power cable, with silver power connectors and ferrite core(s)

The Medium size (1.70 sq.mm) of our Solid Silver mains cables is the best choice for most applications - low powered items like CD players and DACs benefit from the increased conductor area, and the cable is big enough to supply large amplifiers with no bother at all. The cable has THREE layers of an extremely dense copper wire braid, featuring our unique new Clean Earth system to keep the Live and Neutral cores free from interference fed back through your hifi system into the Earth wire of the cable.

If you are on a tighter budget and only need to supply a low-power item, then look at the Small size of cable. The Large size of cable is specifically designed for supplying high power items like multiway extension socket blocks and large integrated/power amplifiers. It can also further increase performance of low-powered items, as it has an extremely low resistance.

If you would like to try a Solid Silver cable on home demo for 30 days, then please request that we send you one of our demo cables. You can then try this out with no obligation to buy, and if you need a different length or area of silver core you can then return it in exchange for a custom made cable - silver is EXTREMELY expensive, especially the certified 99.99% pure processed silver wire that we use, so we only charge you for each 10cm of cable needed. We can make these cables as short as 0.2m - but note that the end 3cm or so is covered with heatshrink and so is not very flexible. Please note that these cables cannot be returned once they have been made to custom order - this is why we offer the 30-day trial with the dedicated demo cable.

Customer Testimonials:

Initial tests we carried out revealed an incredible depth to the sound, and it notably stripped all of the sibilance out of vocals on sub-optimal recordings when compared to a range of other cables, including our own PowerBlack cable and a W******** Electra 5 cable (which retails at more than twice the cost of our own Silver cable). Our Solid Silver cable leaves far more expensive cables for dead - as one of our customers succinctly said, "This is a very special cable". He was suitably impressed in the listening test consultation we carried out with him, and he was left wishing he hadn't bought a more expensive cable from a different manufacturer as a result of the listening test!

Another customer requested that we upgrade the normal copper wiring in his distribution block to our new solid silver wiring system - here is what he had to say about the upgrade:

"I have had the system up for three days virtually with your cable on the CD Player and the rewired mains block on for around 12 hours per day.  The first noticeable improvement is the great reduction in noise-floor - as with most people nigh-time listening  is generally the most rewarding - I seem to have this state on a permanent basis!.  Then I noticed much greater separation in the stereo sound-stage.  Then the longer I listen the actual musicality of the system has been noticeably heightened - particularly with acoustic instruments.  The depth and tautness of bass has been a revelation; as I mentioned to you before, my hybrid speakers are not renowned for their bass response, but they were obviously capable of more than they were delivering.

Overall, I am so very pleased with what you have done, and I eagerly await the upgrade of the second mains block so that my TV and Blue-Ray player and SACD Player can all benefit as well.

You are clearly going to be my engineer of choice from here on in!!!

Thank you so very much for not only the quality of what you have delivered but also in explaining the process so carefully - you know what an irritating lot us audiophiles can be at the best of times!!!"

It is worth noting that the above customer has now not only gone on to have his second block upgraded with solid silver wiring, but he has also ordered another three (and counting...) of the solid silver IEC cables from us, he is that impressed with them!

Just to let you know that at this early stage I can confirm that I will not be returning the Large Solid Silver Cable. The plan was to write a review for you about the cable and the Solid Silver interconnects for inclusion onto your website and Ebay site. However, every time I listen to my system I get lost in the enjoyment and find it difficult to analyse what I’m listening to! I do hope that over the next week or two, I’ll be able to be more objective and write a very positive review. I can say however, I didn’t realise how neutral and how much clarity my vacuum tube system had until the arrival of your cables.

I have owned the Large Solid Silver mains cable since October 2012, so there are no burn-in issues. The large solid silver mains cable, replace a similar well-known mains cable, is inserted into a quality 6-way mains distribution block. Plugged into this distribution block, which is plugged in next to a mains silencer and clamp is a tube power amp, tube pre-amp and turntable. Initially, on first listening, the mains cable seems to have lessened the overall noise floor of my system and softened the bass character, but providing me with a more open, deeper and wider soundstage. However, after a few days the bass became deeper and more taut, the midrange provide even more clarity and the treble became finely etched floating above but integrated with the other frequencies. I have never heard my Koetsu Red Signature produce such sounds across a wide range of music genres, from classical to deep roots reggae. Now I can understand what early twentieth century, modern classical composers were attempting to achieve painting a soundscape so intricate, at times subtle but vivid and always enthralling.

Your Medium Solid Silver cable is a joy to listen to! I put it between my Isotek sigma (power unit) and my Pre amp (Audio Research SP9). It has had the effect of making the space around the notes bigger especailly aroud the upper reaches land most surprisingly conveyed this extra clarity and detail softly, with extra colour and no sharpness. My music all round is, despite or because of the new detail, easier to listen to. I am delighted silver seems to work so well ( Spendor SP7 speakers, Micomega Drive 3 CD transport, Theta Chroma DAC with Kimber 1030 interconnects and Kimber supercords mains leads).

I confirm I'm very happy to keep this all round superb looking and sounding cable (and let my Audio Research power D110 steam along for the while with the lesser Kimber cables)

Further Information:

The cable comes with a silver plated UK, Euro Schuko or US plug as standard, as well as your choice of silver plated IEC, silver plated figure-8, C19 (high current IEC), or Bulgin 3 pole plug, all at no extra cost. We can also supply a nickel plated Australian plug, and we even offer a discount on this option! The cable comes fitted with ferrite cores appropriate to its length (1 core for cables up to 0.7m, 2 ferrites for longer cables).

The cable uses solid 99.99% silver wire for the Live and Neutral cores, and a 2.5 sq.mm copper wire for the Earth connection. This is perfectly logical, as the Earth wire does not carry a current, it only acts as a safety mechanism (hence the large surface area of copper used) and as a drain for the shielding in your hifi equipment. If you desire, we can also upgrade the Earth to a 2.55 sq.mm solid 99.99% silver core - please ask us for more details.

The Clean Earth system is one of our unique new innovations, it works by preventing the Earth wire from feeding interference across to the critical current-carrying cores. This helps to really kill the last of the background noise from the system. Our Blue audio cables use a similar principle, which works slightly differently but the end effect of giving an inky 'black' sonic background is much the same.

The diamter of the Solid Silver mains cable (all sizes) is approximately 12mm,  but because of its construction it is still very flexible, in fact more so than our PowerBlack cable which is only 10mm in diameter. The standard outer braid colour is white, but we can use black, grey or blue upon request at no extra cost to yourself. We can also use other colours to special order.
