DC3 & DC4 DIY modules

Note that prices for all modules on this page do not have VAT added. International clients may have to pay import tax, UK clients will not have VAT to pay (these modules are sold by Dr. Sean Jacobs and not CHC)

DC3 REG module: £200 each

This is an assembled and tested DC3 regulator module - it is capable of supplying up to 1.5A of continuous current (with higher peaks) but we can also build a 5A version on request (subject to current requirements - some devices require the Current Boost module). The PCB measures 46x31mm and comes with mounting hardware (mica insulators and plastic shouldered washers) for installation. You will need to supply heatsink paste and suitable nuts and bolts to mount to your desired heatsink.

DC4 REG module: £700 each

This is an assembled and tested DC4 regulator module - it is capable of supplying up to 5A of continuous current (with higher peaks), if your actual current requirement is 3A or less then the on-board CX filter is used to provide enhanced low-noise operation. The PCB measures 60x46mm and comes with mounting hardware (mica insulators and plastic shouldered washers) for installation. You will need to supply heatsink paste and suitable nuts and bolts to mount to your desired heatsink.

DC3 RECAP module: £180 each

The RECAP module is the rectifier and reservoir capacitor array, used to feed the regulator module. You normally use one RECAP module per REG module, and the RECAP module is driven directly from the low voltage AC secondary windings of the mains transformer. If you require more than one DC3 RECAP module, we do make them as "twin" modules, at £360 each, this is two separate modules on one PCB and is done this way to make mounting slightly easier.

DC4 RECAP module: £350 each

The DC4 RECAP module is an improvement over the DC3 version - it uses twice the reservoir capacitance, improved rectifiers and filtering components, and is made with a premium quality, extra-thick,  gold-plated PCB. Vibration isolation mountings are also supplied with the module. These are not available as "twin" modules as per the DC3 RECAP modules.

Current Boost module: £100 each

Used to increase the current handling of the DC3 or DC4 REG modules up to a solid 5A continuous rating - can be paralleled to give 10A or 15A of current handling. For more than 5A, RECAP modules cannot be used, you will need to use high-current capacitor arrays (we don't supply these but we can share info on circuit layout, specs, suppliers etc).

HCX module: £100 each

Used to rectify low voltage AC into DC at up to 15A current handling, in order to feed high-current capacitor arrays and our REG modules with 2 or 3 Current Boost modules in parallel. Needed for high current rails only.
